There are 5 railway stations in Beijing
1. Beijing Railway Station: also named as old Beijing Station. It is one of ten buildings in the 10th anniversary of National Day in 1959 which is close to Jianguo Gate with trains heading to Beijing- Shanghai and Beijing-Shandong directions.
2. Beijing West Railway Station: it is completed and used in 1995 and is close to Lotus Pond and south of Century Altar with trains heading to Beijing-Guangzhou, southwest and northwest directions.
3. Beijing South Railway Station is originally called Yongdingmen Station. It was the destination of slow train to Beijing (most fast trains started from Beijing Station). It is now the starting station of high-speed railway that trains in Beijing-Shanghai and Beijing-Tianjing shuttle here.
4. Beijing North Railway Station is also called Xizhimen Railway Station that trains heading to Yanqing, Miyun, Chifeng, Tongliao start from here.
5. Beijing East Railway Station is located in southwest corner of Sihui Bridge in East Fourth Ring which is a combined passenger and cargo station with cargo for the most. Currently, there are 2 passenger trains which are 6417/18 heading to Chengde and 6465 heading to Huairou.
Railway stations and trains in Beijing and Xi’an
There are high-speed trains, express train, fast train and K fast train from Beijing to Xi’an, including 7 trips of high-speed train from 7am to 5pm. They start from Beijing West Station to Xi’an North Station in about 6 hours.
There is only one Express Train Z19 ( 20:43-07:58 ) without stop and directly heads to Xi’an Station in 11 hours. There are 7 trips of fast train from Beijing West Station to Xi’an Station which are named after T. There are 7 trips from 2pm to 7:50pm which take about 12-15 over the night. Express Train will stop in some stations on the way. There are 2 trips of Fast Trains. One is K692 which takes about 18 hours and K1363 which takes about 15 hours. K629 train goes through Xi’an with destination in Lanzhou and K1363 also goes through Xi’an with destination in Chengdu.

Are there direct fast trains from Beijing and Xi’an?
Yes, there is on fast train Z19 (20:43-07:58) from Beijing West Station to Xi’an Station which takes about 11 hours over the night. It goes the same with Z20 (19:55-07:10) from Xi’an Station to Beijing West Station. This train offers advanced soft sleeper (compartment for two with independent bathroom), soft sleeper for 4 people and hard sleeper for 6 people. Moreover, it goes 1~2 hours faster than fast train.

There are 7 fast trains from Beijing West Station to Xi’an Station which starts from Beijing West Station to Xi’an Station marked with T. They start from 2pm ~ 7:50pm and take about 12-15 hours with soft sleepers and hard sleepers. What’s more, T43 and T44 trains even offer advanced soft sleepers (compartment for 2 people with private toilet). There are also 7 fast trains from Xi’an Station to Beijing West Station from 1am to 10:30pm which take 12-14 hours.
How many fast trains between Beijing and Xi’an and what seats will they offer?
There are two trains starting from Beijing West Station to Xi’an Station. One is K692 which takes 18 hours and the other is K1363 which takes 15 hours. K629 passes by Xi’an with destination in Lanzhou. K1363 passes by Xi’an with destination in Chengdu. There are also two trains goes from Xi’an Station to Beijing North Station which are K630 an K1364 which take about 16 hours. K630 starts from Lanzhou to Beijing and passes by Xi’an and K1364 starts from Chengdu to Beijing and passes by Xi’an Station. They all offer soft and hard sleepers.
